Ricki-Lee Coulter is a New Zealand-born singer and songwriter who originally hails from Auckland, New Zealand. However, she was raised in Gold Coast in sunny Queensland. Born on 10th November 1985, Ricki-Lee was immensely passionate about music since her early childhood. According to the available statistics, she began performing at a very young age – at the age of fifteen.

Nevertheless, her inherent music talents got a recognition (from the audience and music critics) when she participated in the “Australian Idol” competition (in 2004). In this contest, she gained the seventh rank and got acknowledged by the passionate music lovers!

A Glimpse of Her Music Career:

As a teenager, her music talents were discovered by her mother who asked her to perform at gigs in the Brisbane and Gold Coast areas with other live bands. Plus, she was a member of her school stage band and a regular performer in her school concerts. She was even proficient at playing trumpet, flute, and tenor saxophone. In 2002, the musician obtained her high school degree. After that, she decided to pursue her solo music career and started composing her own songs.

In 2003, she gave the auditions for the first season of a nationwide song contest, “Australian Idol”. Unfortunately, she did not qualify for the audition round. In the following year, she again tried her luck to participate in the 2nd season of “Australian Idol”. This time, Ricki-Lee Coulter got an incredible opportunity to portray her music skills as she was selected in the auditions of “Australian Idol”. Throughout the season, she was regarded as a fan favorite as she came up with some magnificent live performances. In this competition, she progressed upto the semi-finals. And, in this way, her abilities as a proficient musician grabbed an attention by the worldwide audience.

Following the departure from the “Australian Idol” contest, she signed an official contract with “Shock Records”. Next, she produced a debut single (entitled as “Hell No!”) and a self-titled debut album. Few songs of this album gained the top-10 rank in Australia. Plus, the following soundtracks – “Sunshine” and “Hell No!” received the Gold Certification by ARIA. Her second studio album, named as “Brand New Day” was released in 2007. This album too received the Gold Certification by ARIA.

Coming to her latest music work – the fourth studio album (“Dance In The Rain”) was produced in 2014. This album soon became an international-sounding affair and it received rave reviews!
